Fundraisers Scheduled for Cancer Patient
These events have been scheduled for raising funds to cover medical expenses for Bradley Dycus, age 26, who has been diagnosed with Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor, a very rare form of cancer. He is receiving treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and in Atlanta.
Bradley is a graduate of Dyer County High School in Newbern. He is a design engineer now residing in Lawrenceville, Georgia with his wife, Marissa. His parents, Bill and Paula Dycus, reside in Newbern.
Barbecue and Chicken Plate Sale
A BBQ and chicken plate sale will be held on Saturday, August 30 at Lowe's in Dyersburg from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Ticket cost is $6.00 per plate which includes baked beans, slaw, and chips. Drinks will also be sold on site. The sale is sponsored by the Drafting and CAD Technology class at Tennessee Technology Center in Newbern. The students are also seeking donations for supplies. Gospel Singing
A Gospel Singing featuring Under Grace, Renewed and the Grills Family will be held at the Lake Road Baptist Church, 2227 Lake Road in Dyersburg at 7 p.m. on Friday, August 22. A love offering will be taken.
